BSC Group's scientists integrate ecological principles into all aspects of a project, from natural habitat assessment and restoration of degraded environments to collaboration on site design and land planning.
Our ecological sciences team includes professional scientists who have extensive backgrounds in wetland and soil science, wildlife management, marine and aquatic ecology, terrestrial ecology, forestry, botany, geology, land use planning, natural resource management, and terrestrial and aquatic restoration planning. In addition, our scientists have a keen understanding of federal and state environmental regulations and maintain working relationships with regulatory agency personnel to assist clients in developing mitigation options and management plans that meet permitting requirements.
Freshwater and coastal wetland resource area science and regulation forms the core of our natural resource services. Wetland related services we provide include wetland delineations, wetland function-value assessments, wetland mitigation design, construction oversight and monitoring, vernal pool identification, stream and salt marsh restoration, coastal dune and bank assessment and restoration planning, dredge planning and permitting, aerial photo interpretation, determination of regulatory jurisdiction, and expert witness testimony.
Wildlife management services include wildlife habitat evaluations and inventories, Habitat Evaluation Procedure (HEP) analyses, vernal pool characterizations, amphibian and reptile surveys and mitigation, breeding bird surveys, waterfowl and raptor surveys, dragonfly, butterfly, and shellfish surveys and mitigation, and wildlife management planning and permit support.
