Richard joined BSC in 1988, after prior service in general management, finance and strategic planning within the publishing, utility, freight railroad and consulting industries. While working with a quasi-Federal agency, he was heavily involved in designing the original capital structure for the then, newly-formed Conrail and its initial $2.1 billion financing. His business career now spans 40 years.
As the President of BSC Companies, Richard currently is responsible for the corporate administrative (IT, Legal and Human Resources) and financial management of the BSC Companies, subsidiaries and affiliates. In prior years Richard has led the growth of the firm in terms of revenue, acquisitions and entry into new geographic regions. He chairs the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, with responsibility for setting the strategic agenda for the firm.
Richard holds a BA degree from Columbia Union College and an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Management. He believes in an open, communicative and transparent management style within the company.
