Design of Pratt Street Boulevard
BSC worked with the City of Meriden on the transformation of Pratt Street into the gateway to the city center. The primary goal of the project was to ensure that all modes of transportation, whether traveling by bicycle, car, bus, or by foot, arrive at the Transit Oriented Development efficiently and safely. The project aims to improve existing transportation infrastructure and, in turn, promote increased economic activity. This will be accomplished by upgrading the existing undivided multi-lane roadway into a two-lane road with a landscaped median and a dedicated turning lane.
The transformation of Pratt Street into a boulevard effectively directs travelers to the city center, HUB park, and the transit center. BSC assisted with both design and construction of the new boulevard, including reconfiguring two intersections along Pratt Street.
