This year’s Run of the Charles shines brighter than ever as both BSC Group and the Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) each celebrate their Diamond Anniversaries - marking 60 years of leadership, innovation, and environmental stewardship.
Founded the same year as BSC, the Charles River Watershed Association has transformed the Charles River from one of the nation’s most polluted urban rivers to a national model for river restoration and stewardship. Over the past 60 years, CRWA has:
- Led river restoration:
CRWA’s advocacy and science-driven action have revived the Charles River into a vibrant recreational and ecological resource. - Advanced climate adaptation:
By championing Nature-based Solutions, CRWA is preparing the watershed for the challenges of a changing climate. - Engaged communities:
CRWA empowers thousands of volunteers, students, and advocates to protect and celebrate the river year after year.
The Run of the Charles is more than just New England’s largest river race - it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and a shared love for the Charles River.
This year, as BSC proudly sponsors and participates in the event, we honor six decades of connection to this river, the surrounding communities, and to CRWA’s extraordinary mission.
We were excited to race, volunteer, and cheer alongside all those who believe in the power of protecting and enhancing our natural resources. Here’s to 60 years of progress - and the momentum to carry us into an even brighter, more sustainable future!
