Amazon Fulfillment Center Site Development

BSC supported the development of a 2.75-million-square-foot warehouse on a former 95-acre farm. The project featured 40 loading docks, parking for 1,200 employees and 200 tractor trailers, and improvements to two state roadways, including a culvert extension through a perennial stream. Two residential properties were acquired and removed to accommodate the site.

The work included moving 2 million cubic yards of soil and 200,000 cubic yards of blasted rock, and installing 2.2 million cubic feet of stormwater detention and 2 million cubic feet of underground storage.

BSC led permitting with the Charlton Conservation Commission, MassDEP (Section 401), and USACE (Section 404), and designed three mitigation areas to offset impacts to wetlands and stream habitats.

Our services also included construction-phase monitoring, stormwater response, support in resolving enforcement actions, and post-construction monitoring with invasive species management.
