CambridgePark Drive Residential Development

BSC was selected by the Hanover Company to provide engineering services to support the construction of 50 CambridgePark Drive, a 294 unit multi-family residential complex with ground floor retail in Cambridge, MA. Prior to construction, BSC supported the project’s permitting process, which included an Alewife Overlay District and Floodplain Special Permit from the Cambridge Planning Board.

50 CambridgePark Drive is located within the City of Cambridge’s Alewife 6 District, an identified Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) area which requires adherence to stringent zoning regulations. As such, the residential complex will comply with the City’s many policy goals including a 20% affordability requirement, assurance that the height of the structure will remain the same or lower than its surrounding neighbors, and will epitomize smart-growth principles by taking an adjacent, unused parcel and transforming the space into a pedestrian and bicycle connection to the MBTA’s Alewife station, which will also allow for a route to a future pedestrian bridge over the MBTA commuter rail tracks.
