Haggetts Pond Rail Trail

BSC Group partnered with the Town of Andover to transform an abandoned rail corridor into a new half-mile multi-use trail connecting Haggetts Pond Road with a boardwalk and scenic overlook. BSC helped secure a $500,000 MassTrails Grant and provided surveying, design, environmental permitting, bidding, and construction administration services.

The project includes an accessible 8-foot-wide paved trail and boardwalk, a new trailhead parking area, stormwater improvements along Haggetts Pond Road, and a rectangular rapid flashing beacon to improve pedestrian safety. BSC also led environmental permitting and provided full-time monitoring during construction to maintain compliance with Massachusetts Endangered Species Act requirements and protect a rare turtle population within the project area.
