BSC Group is excited to welcome Karen Hanecak to our team as a Project Manager and Siting Lead.
Karen is a seasoned project manager and regulatory specialist with over 27 years of experience supporting energy generation and transmission projects across the Northeast. She has a proven track record managing complex permitting and licensing efforts involving state siting boards, environmental protection agencies, and federal authorities such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Karen's expertise spans environmental impact assessments, critical issues and fatal flaw analysis, siting and routing studies, and land use analysis, with a focus on ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering high-quality project documentation. She has played key roles in major infrastructure initiatives for Eversource, National Grid, Rhode Island Energy and other utilities throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York.
Karen holds a B.A. in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island and has completed advanced training in hazardous waste operations, wetland delineation, and environmental permitting. Her technical knowledge and collaborative leadership style align with BSC’s mission to deliver thoughtful, compliant, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
