BSC Group wetland Scientist Jeff Malloy and Ingeborg Hegemann, a principal at BSC Group, delivered a presentation on the Chapter 91 Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) Wetlands and Waterways Program to a team of environmental analysts from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
The presentation started with a historical perspective and overviewed the current-day context of Chapter 91. Mr. Malloy and Ms. Hegemann identified specific geographic areas that are subject to jurisdiction, as well as activities that do and do not require authorization. The presentation ended with a summary of licensing and permitting requirements associated with Chapter 91 and important provisions that are specific to MassDOT.
