BSC provided ecological, survey, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services for design of the new Environmental and Cultural Magnet School in Windham, CT. Situated on a wooded 20-acre site, the new school embodies the concept of an environmental responsibility, low impact design while serving a student population of approximately 600 students in grades pre-K through 8.

BSC’s team completed the design of site elements such as new utilities, stormwater management systems, vehicular/bus access, emergency vehicle access, parking facilities, athletic fields, and playgrounds. BSC also led the efforts to secure wetland permits and incorporated 3,700 square-feet of engineered wetlands designed to be located in one of the detention basins as well as boundary, topographic, and utility survey for the permitting and design of the school site.

Additional services included a traffic study to assess movement of vehicular traffic.
