Clifford Park Improvements

The Clifford Park Improvements project is transforming Clifford Park into a modern, inclusive, and accessible space for people of all ages and abilities. The renovation enhances community well-being, boosts the park’s resilience to climate impacts, and preserves its existing features.

BSC is leading the design of site improvements, including play areas, athletic fields, and a dog park. Athletic fields are getting new turf, improved drainage, and upgraded lighting for extended use. A state-of-the-art inclusive playground will provide physical, sensory, and social play opportunities, while an interactive splash pad offers seasonal fun for families. The project also includes climate resilience strategies, such as heat mitigation and green stormwater infrastructure.

Community input has guided every stage. Through public meetings and consultations with local residents and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department (BPRD), BSC designed a park system that reflects community priorities while maintaining existing uses.

BSC also conducted a comprehensive site analysis and provided program development and schematic design services. The firm continues to assist BPRD with construction supervision, ensuring the park is built according to the design vision and functions as a resilient, welcoming space.
