Quincy Center Urban Renewal Plan

BSC has been proud to serve the City of Quincy’s needs for about 15 years. Our staff has engaged in meaningful discussions and public engagement sessions with City officials and residents to gain a sense of the desired results of planning projects, helping to forward the community’s vision for the city.

• Quincy Center Urban Renewal Planning. BSC worked with the City to prepare an Urban Renewal Plan to help restore historic Quincy Center as a vibrant mixed-use downtown. With guidance from a robust public engagement process and a detailed assessment and analysis of existing conditions, including zoning, infrastructure, building conditions, parking, and traffic, BSC developed a plan and strategy to achieve the revitalization vision.
• Wollaston Urban Renewal Plan. BSC worked with the City of Quincy to optimize economic development potential associated with the ongoing transformation of Wollaston Center. The planning effort entailed the creation of an Urban Renewal Plan focused on strengthening Wollaston’s neighborhood business district and promoting mixed-use development opportunities.
• North Quincy TOD Guidelines. BSC worked with the City of Quincy to develop Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Design Guidelines for the area abutting the North Quincy MBTA station. The TOD Design Guidelines encourage design elements that create inviting streets for pedestrians and provide a rich mix of offerings.
• On-Call Consultant Services. In addition to planning and design work, BSC serves as an on-call consultant for civil and transportation engineering and peer review services for the City, conducting several traffic impact analyses and site plan/URP development reviews.
