Wilson Gateway Park

Selected through a competitive process, BSC partnered with the Town of Windsor to transform a vacant parcel into a vibrant community park serving an underrepresented neighborhood. Through site analysis, public engagement, and close collaboration with Town staff, the team developed a design that reflects community priorities while creating new opportunities for recreation, gathering, and play.

The completed park features an accessible playground, a native planting glade, a grand lawn, and a pavilion that serves as both a community gathering space and performance stage. A key design element was the introduction of rolling topography and biofiltration areas to a previously flat site, creating a more dynamic landscape while improving stormwater management, drainage, and ecological function.

Completed in Spring 2025, the park has become a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike. In recognition of its design excellence and community impact, the project received an ASLA Connecticut Merit Award and was honored at the CT ASLA Awards Gala in January 2026.
