Wilson Gateway Park

Wilson Gateway Park transforms a long-neglected vacant parcel into a new 7-acre civic gateway designed for daily use and community-scale moments. Selected through a competitive process, BSC Group partnered with the Town of Windsor to create an inclusive, vibrant hub for recreation that reflects the priorities of an underrepresented community.

Working closely with Town staff through site analysis and a public engagement process, the team developed concepts that balanced creativity with manageable long-term maintenance. The finished park features an accessible playground, a native planting glade, a central plaza, and a grand lawn with a pavilion that doubles as a stage. Site grading introduced rolling topography and integrated biofiltration zones, strengthening resilience while creating a hillside walk and overlook that reconnects visitors to the landscape.

Construction was completed in Spring 2025, and the project received an ASLA Connecticut Merit Award, recognized at the CT ASLA Awards Gala on January 28, 2026.
