We are experienced in environmental impact assessment, site selection and evaluation, alternatives analysis, and mitigation design and engineering. In addition, we have expertise in permit negotiation, agency liaison and permitting compliance services, and are adept in public presentations and navigating community processes.
BSC has developed educational materials and conducted training for public agencies, non-profit groups, and the general public on environmental permitting processes. We have also conducted internal training to private entities interested in educating their staff on environmental protocols. Our expertise is reflected in our staff’s regular participation in state advisory committees that develop environmental policy and regulatory guidance.
On the federal level, BSC routinely support our clients in obtaining approvals from the Army Corps of Engineers under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act for projects in federally protected wetland and waters. BSC also assists clients in achieving storm water compliance under the requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System for construction and industrial-related stormwater discharges.
On the state and local level, BSC’s Environmental Planning and Permitting staff have extensive experience working with Wetland, Waterway, and Coastal Protection laws and regulations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and North Carolina, and with municipal wetlands protection ordinances and bylaws.
