An enthusiastic audience attended a City of Worcester meeting announcing the upcoming construction of Blackstone Gateway Park. The culmination of more than a decade of planning and design, the project’s construction will begin on April 1. The park is located on 34 acres alongside the Middle River. Envisioned as an urban wild, the park will largely remain forested, with a series of trails and boardwalks linking key access points and neighborhoods. Additional elements of the park design include three pedestrian bridges, interpretive signage, scenic overlooks, and park amenities that also serve as public art.
