Downtown Pedestrian Connectivity Improvement Design

BSC Group was selected by the Town of Wallingford to serve as the lead engineer to design a Pedestrian Connectivity project to develop their downtown “core” section of town to the new train station along the New Haven-Springfield Rail Lines. The project builds upon the Town’s Transit Oriented Development Plan (TOD) to connect all available modes of modern-day transportation to the train station. Measures to create a safer, more pedestrian friendly connection to the station were implemented and a shared-use roadway was designed utilizing a Complete Streets approach.

The scope of the project also involved potential utilities upgrades on and around an existing crossing and utilities leading up to and connecting to rail station utilities.
