Resilience Planning and Flood Protection for Two National Grid Substations
After conducting a routing study associated with the construction of a 3.7-mile underground cable between the coastal communities of Beverly and Salem, BSC Group is providing resilience planning services for the protection of two substations. BSC is leading the overall assessment and planning process, overseeing site survey and inspections, a flood modeling program, and GIS mapping. Data collected during this process will be used to develop three conceptual climate adaptations and potential regional solutions. BSC also is preparing a regulatory and permitting analysis that evaluates the resource areas and agency jurisdiction at these coastal sites, including Chapter 91 licensing, the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, and US Army Corps of Engineers.
