Tyler Street Intersection Improvements

BSC partnered with the City of Pittsfield to plan and design infrastructure improvements along the Tyler Street corridor, helping advance the City’s vision for a safer, more connected downtown. Working closely with residents, the team developed a neighborhood improvement plan featuring streetscape enhancements, multimodal transportation improvements, and a new roundabout to replace a high-crash intersection. BSC also helped the City secure $3 million in MassWorks funding for construction.

Designed using Complete Streets principles, the project improves access for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and motorists while creating a more welcoming streetscape that reflects the neighborhood’s character. Extensive public engagement helped shape the final design and ensured the improvements aligned with community priorities.
