The Town of Ashland has been awarded a MassWorks grant to fund the implementation of Complete Streets infrastructure improvements in the downtown area. Planned improvements include the widening of sidewalks, addition of bicycle accommodation, and a variety of other streetscape upgrades, all aimed to spur residential and commercial development in the neighborhood.
BSC Group has supported the planning and preliminary design of these improvements. Having conducted a dynamic, multi-platform community engagement process, BSC’s engineers, planners, and landscape architects have helped the community to focus their vision for pedestrian access and walkability, bicycle accessibility, undergrounding of utilities, and traffic mitigation design. An important element of the project has been the celebration of Ashland’s individual character and history as the basis for future development.
