BSC Awarded Land Management Study Contract by the Harwich Conservation Commission

The Town of Harwich Conservation Commission selected BSC to develop a Town Wide Land Stewardship Report and a comprehensive Land Management Plan for both Bells Neck Conservation Area & Island Pond Conservation Area. The property contains diverse habitat ranging from upland forest, vernal pool, reservoir, salt marsh, bordering vegetated wetland, tidal and non-tidal river, and cranberry bog. The area is known to be home to several threatened, rare or endangered species. The study conducted by BSC will assist the Conservation Commission in identifying short-term and long-term management priorities for the two properties for the next five to fifteen years. The project is being led by Norm Hayes, PWS/MCA, project manager, and Ingeborg Hegemann, PWS.
