BSC’s Growing Ecological Team Offers Expanded Capabilities

BSC’s ecological group is growing! We are excited to introduce new members of our team who will help BSC to provide expanded service offerings on a variety of projects.

Matt Burne brings extensive experience in wildlife surveys and vernal pool evaluations to BSC. He spent ten years with the MA Natural Heritage Program performing wetlands environmental review and rare species surveys; he also conducted a state-wide remote census of vernal pools. In his previous role as Conservation Director for The Walden Woods Project Matt developed educational programming and developed marketing and outreach skills, which will help us showcase the importance of this critical work.

Based in BSC’s new Manchester, NH, office, Sarah Barnum, PhD., offers over 20 years of experience in impact assessment and mitigation planning for threatened and endangered species, with numerous New Hampshire based projects. Sarah’s portfolio also includes many power and transmission line projects.

Splitting her time between Worcester and Boston, Sara Kreisel, PWS, offers experience working in-house with MassDOT Environmental for her former employer will benefit our transportation teams. She also brings extensive environmental GIS experience, providing depth to that service area. Her first professional position involved feasibility and permitting for natural gas pipelines, and she looks forward to contributing to the BSC’s energy group in that capacity as well.
