The Bulfinch Companies, developer of the Cambridge Discovery Park project, was presented with the City of Cambridge’s GoGreen Award for sustainability initiatives that were implemented as part of the redevelopment project. BSC Group provided several of the green design elements for the project, including the transformation of a parking lot into a natural vegetative buffer between the Little River and the developed portion of the site. A pocket wetland was created to support stormwater management and provide natural habitat adjacent to the river. The City of Cambridge presents the GoGreen on an annual basis, recognizing local businesses and organizations for outstanding practices in transportation, waste reduction and recycling, energy, stormwater management, climate protection, and community sustainability.
