BSC Group is proud to announce that Senior Ecologist, Diana Walden has been elected President of the Association of Massachusetts Wetland Scientists (AMWS).
Diana brings more than 25 years of experience in wetland ecology, wildlife conservation, and environmental permitting, and her appointment reflects her long-standing commitment to advancing wetland science across Massachusetts.
Diana has been deeply involved in AMWS leadership for over a decade, previously serving as both Treasurer and Vice President on the Board of Directors, and as Wildlife Committee Chair.
During this time, she helped meet financial requirements, plan content for annual meetings, and guide scientific and educational programming for the organization. Her steady leadership and technical insight made her a natural choice for the presidency and further underscore her respected standing within the wetland science community.
Throughout her career at BSC, Diana has supported a wide range of public, private, utility, and transportation clients with permitting, wetland delineation, wildlife habitat evaluations, environmental compliance monitoring, and erosion and sediment control best practices. Her extensive regulatory experience includes coordination with local conservation commissions, state environmental agencies, and federal regulators such as the US Army Corps of Engineers, US EPA, and USFWS.
Diana holds an MS in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BS in Environmental Studies and Biology from St. Lawrence University. Her strong technical foundation, combined with her collaborative approach to project delivery and environmental stewardship, has made her a valued leader within BSC and across the broader scientific community.
Her election as AMWS President highlights both her accomplished leadership and BSC Group’s continued role in supporting the advancement of environmental science and responsible natural resource management.
Please join us in congratulating Diana on this well-deserved achievement.
