Last week, BSCer Gillian Davies presented at the 14th Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar Convention), hosted by China and Switzerland and held in Wuhan, China, and Geneva, Switzerland. In Geneva, Gillian spoke about protecting the rights of wetlands in the context of how wetlands can help protect biodiversity and mitigate climate change. She also helped promote the certification of wetland scientists around the globe. As seen below, Gillian joins fellow wetland scientists from the U.S. and U.K. who represented the Society of Wetland Scientists and the SWS Professional Certification Program and met with representatives of several governments as well as Ramsar Convention Secretariat staff.
