Gillian Davies Presents at MACC Environmental Conference

Gillian Davies recently returned from the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions’ 2014 Annual Environmental Conference, where she co-presented a program entitled “Wetlands and Climate Change: Their Functions, Roles, and Protecting Your Community’s Resiliency.” The workshop, completed in conjunction with July Conroy of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, provided participants with new scientific information on the role of wetlands in the carbon cycle and in adapting to and mitigating for climate change, on how wetlands are being impacted, and steps that communities can take to enhance their own resilience through smart wetland resource stewardship. Gillian is a key member of BSC Group’s Climate Adaptation Committee, an internal working group of professionals representing our firm’s multidisciplinary expertise. This committee is charged with exploring ways to help our clients tackle and offset the various effects of significant climate events in our environment.
