Kurt Prochorena, PE, LEP, LEED AP Appointed as International Council of Shopping Center’s Connecticut Alliance Private Sector Chair for 2010

Kurt Prochorena, PE, LEP, LEED AP, director of BSC’s operations in Connecticut, has been appointed to serve as the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) Connecticut Alliance Private Sector Chair for 2010. ICSC is the global trade association of the shopping center industry consisting of over 60,000 members that include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers, and other professionals.

The Alliance Program is a cooperative effort between ICSC and various public partners. The program is intended to explore how public/private partnerships can work together to synthesize the needs of the community with the interests of private investment strategy. Alliance Programs are crafted by private sector industry practitioners, local government officials, and community and economic development professionals. These programs present a unique opportunity for community representatives, local officials, retailers, and developers to meet to understand one another’s needs and build relationships.

Mr. Prochorena has 20 years of experience as a consulting engineer with involvement in a wide variety of design and construction projects in the public and private sectors. He is currently leading BSC’s design team for the Front Street District, a 65,000 square-foot development in downtown Hartford that will be occupied by restaurant, entertainment, and retail spaces.
