Ricardo Austrich Moderates ASLA Hispanic Heritage Month Series

Ricardo Austrich, RLA, President of the Boston Society of Landscape Architects and BSC’s Manager of Landscape Architecture, moderated a fascinating discussion of Cultural Diversity in the Latin American Landscape. Hosted by the American Society of Landscape Architects, this webinar was the first in an educational series celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Ricardo will moderate the entire series.

The program attracted more than 100 international attendees who joined the call from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the United States. The speakers presented interesting perspectives on landscape architecture as seen in their home countries of Chile, Colombia, and Mexico and considered such topics as embracing cultural heritage in the built environment, honoring indigenous cultures, and differences in Latin American nations’ practice of landscape architecture.
