BSC Group’s Director of Planning, Russ Burke, AICP, will co-present at September’s annual conference of the Southern New England Planning Association. Russ’s session, which will be co-presented with Kevin Hively of Ninigret Partners, is entitled “U.S. Manufacturing Renaissance and Implications for Planners: It’s Not Your Father’s Industrial Revolution.” The presentation will discuss the effects of rising transportation costs, extended global supply chains, emerging industries and the birth of the maker sector on the regeneration of the American industrial base. Additionally, the presentation will assess the planning aspects of this resurgence and tools that communities can employ to leverage this opportunity.
