The restoration of Waterbury’s historic City Green took center stage this week at a ceremony to celebrate the project’s grand opening. The newly designed park serves as the centerpiece to the City’s downtown area. To accomplish a design that would meet the vision of the community, BSC led an interactive programming planning effort that considered activities to be hosted on the green, as well as local residents’ preferred aesthetic feel for the city’s hub. Design elements include site furnishings, LED lighting, decorative pavers, walkways, a transit shelter, and new plantings. An event lawn will host activities and events.
